WE ISSUE INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATIONS
OF PADI AND SDI
SKIN DIVER COURSE
This course is designed to provide students with the necessary skills to safely snorkel in conditions similar to those in which they were trained, without the direct supervision of an instructor.
Patent holders may join the SDI Open Water Diver Course to continue their diving education and experience.
SCUBA DISCOVERY COURSE
The Scuba Discovery Programme is designed to provide students with an introduction to scuba diving in a controlled environment under the direct supervision of an instructor.
The programme takes people who want to try scuba diving but are not sure if they want to take a course for certification right away.
Students are given an introduction to basic diving equipment and skills, followed by an underwater tour in the local aquatic environment
FUTURE BUDDIES PROGRAM
The Future Buddies Programme is a new and innovative course designed to provide children between the ages of 8 and 9 with an introduction to scuba diving in a controlled environment under the direct supervision of an instructor.
Children are given the opportunity to try breathing underwater in a confined water zone.
The instructor will provide information covering topics such as diving history, diving equipment and the marine environment.
OPEN WATER DIVER
The Open Water Scuba Diver Course is an entry-level certification course designed to provide students with the necessary skills to safely conduct open water dives without direct instructor supervision, in conditions similar to those in which training took place.
The course covers basic knowledge of equipment, physiology and the marine environment while teaching students basic diving skills.
INACTIVE DIVER PROGRAM/REFRESHER
The Inactive Diver Programme is designed to update and review the knowledge and skill level of an individual who has not dived for more than a year.
The programme can be conducted by either an Instructor or an Assistant Instructor.
ADVANCED DIVER
The SDI Advanced Diver Programme was created to train real ‘Advanced Divers’.
In the old training methodology a student could take an Advanced Course as soon as he or she completed the Open Water Course and only have 9 dives in total, all under the direct instruction of an instructor.
The SDI Advanced Diver development programme requires a new Open Water student to complete 4 SDI specialties or equivalent, with a total of 25 dives. SDI considers a diver to be truly ‘Advanced’ after completion.
RESCUE DIVER
The rescue certification course is designed to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to enable an individual to carry out a rescue and assistance, and administer the necessary first aid.
Students are taught skills such as self-rescue, recognising and calming a potential panicky diver, and administering appropriate first aid to a victim suffering from decompression sickness.
