SDI instructor Course

The SDI Instructor Training Course (IDC) is designed to help you develop the knowledge you need to act confidently as an independent instructor.
 
Thanks to the Instructor Course you will be able to become an SDI instructor (Scuba Diving International, a member agency of the RSTC) and be a member of the most innovative international teaching agency. The Agency was founded by Technical Diving International (TDI), which is the most important and reference organization for technical diving in the world.

THIS PROGRAM IS DIVIDED INTO TWO (2) SECTIONS:

  • an Instructor Development Course (IDC = InstructorDevelopment Course)
  • an Instructor Evaluation Course (IEC = InstructorEvaluation Course)
 
Upon obtaining the certification, the instructor will be able to conduct all course levels from Open Water Scuba Diver to Assistant Instructor.

COURSE ACCESS PREREQUISITES

Students must:
  1. Be at least eighteen (18) years old.
  2. Present a medical certificate for diving.
  3. Have a minimum of one hundred (100) logged dives, in various environments and depths.
  4. Be certified as SDI Divemaster or Assistant Instructor or equivalent.
  5. Have a CPR qualification. First aid and oxygen administration achieved or renewed no more than 2 years ago.

IEC EXAM

During the exam candidates are required to:
Teaching and obtaining a passing score:
A. One (1) theoretical presentation in class.
B. One (1) complete lesson in Confined Waters.
C. One (1) complete lesson in Open Water.
Subsequently pass the written exam for SDI Instructors.
The Instructor Trainer Evaluator will have to verify all the requesting subjects and the techniques demonstrated. To complete this Course, candidates will:
  • Satisfactorily complete the SDI Instructor written exam.
  • Complete all techniques in the water.
  • Demonstrate maturity and judgment in the planning and execution of theoretical lessons.
