Description
ACCESS REQUIREMENTS
To participate in the course, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Provide a medical certificate for fitness to dive.
- Have at least 100 logged dives in various environments and depths.
- Be certified as an SDI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, or equivalent.
- Hold a current (within 2 years) CPR, first aid, and oxygen provider qualification.
MATERIALS USED
During the course, candidates will use:
- SDI Standard and Procedure Manual
- Open Water Instructor Guide
- PowerPoint presentations for Open Water Diver, Advanced Adventures, and Rescue Diver courses
- Student manuals for Open Water Diver, Advanced, and Rescue Diver
- SDI whiteboards for confined and open water lessons
- SDI whiteboards for teaching technique assessment
IEC EXAM
During the exam, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in:
- A theoretical classroom presentation
- A complete lesson in confined water
- A complete lesson in open water
Afterward, candidates must pass the SDI instructor written exam.
The Instructor Trainer Evaluator will assess all demonstrated techniques and the ability to plan and conduct theoretical lessons. The course completion requires: - Passing the SDI instructor written exam
- Successfully completing all water techniques
- Demonstrating maturity and judgment in lesson planning
