DECOMPRESSION PROCEDURES
A FUNDAMENTAL PILLAR

This course represents a comprehensive path for experienced divers looking to acquire specific skills in the planning and execution of dives requiring planned decompression stops. It thoroughly covers both the theory and the methods and techniques necessary to safely tackle more complex dives, where managing decompression becomes a crucial element for diver safety. While it can be taken as a standalone course, it is often combined with other advanced courses, such as the TDI Advanced Nitrox, TDI Advanced Wreck, or Extended Range TDI courses, to provide a complete and integrated training experience for those wishing to explore deeper waters safely and responsibly.

The primary goal of the course is to prepare divers to manage dives up to a maximum depth of 45 meters, unless combined with the Extended Range Course, which allows exploration of even greater depths. Key aspects regarding the necessary equipment for decompression dives are addressed, with a particular focus on the most common configurations used by technical divers. This includes the use of decompression gas cylinders, the organization of backup cylinders, and the use of advanced dive computers to monitor dive and decompression times. Theoretical lessons are complemented by practical exercises that allow divers to apply their acquired knowledge in the field, ensuring comprehensive preparation for tackling technically challenging dives.

Upon certification, divers will be authorized to perform decompression dives without the need for direct supervision, provided that the dive conditions are similar to those encountered during the course. This means that divers must be capable of planning and executing dives independently, taking into account factors such as depth, bottom time, and gases used, as well as any risks associated with decompression.

The course also provides a solid foundation for those looking to further their technical training. Certified divers can enroll in a series of advanced courses that allow them to expand their skills and abilities. These include the TDI Advanced Nitrox Course, which enables the use of advanced nitrox mixtures; the TDI Extended Range Course, which extends operational capabilities to greater depths; the TDI Advanced Wreck Course, focusing on wreck diving; and the TDI Entry Level Trimix, which introduces the use of trimix mixtures for deep dives.

In summary, this course offers an unmissable opportunity for those wishing to advance in the world of technical diving and acquire the skills necessary to safely manage decompression dives.
