NITROX DIVER COURSE
OUR COURSE OFFERING
This entry-level certification course is specifically designed for recreational divers who want to expand their skills by using Nitrox, also known as enriched air, as a diving gas. Nitrox is a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen, where the oxygen percentage is higher than in regular air. This course introduces divers to the techniques and knowledge required to safely and efficiently dive using Nitrox mixtures with an oxygen concentration between twenty-two (22) and forty (40) percent.
The main goal of the course is to educate divers on the many advantages of using Nitrox, such as extending no-decompression dive times, while also addressing the associated risks and proper procedures for managing these mixtures. Divers learn to identify potential hazards, such as oxygen toxicity, and how to correctly calculate the partial pressure of oxygen to ensure safe dives. Additionally, the course covers the use of specialized equipment, such as oxygen analyzers, to verify the composition of Nitrox mixtures before diving.
Upon successful completion of the course, certified divers can independently dive using enriched air mixtures with oxygen concentrations between EAN-22 and EAN-40, without requiring direct supervision. This certification serves as a gateway to further advanced training opportunities. Certified divers can access more advanced courses offered by TDI (Technical Diving International), such as the TDI Advanced Nitrox Course, the TDI Decompression Procedures Course, and the TDI Semi-closed Rebreather Course, which allow them to deepen their technical knowledge and further expand their diving skills.
